23 November 2022 | LAUSANNE, Switzerland – PARIS, France
Compass Financial Technologies, a Swiss and French based EU regulated index provider and Euronext*, the leading pan-European market infrastructure, partner on first Euronext Crypto Index Family.
Euronext has introduced a family of indices which provide institutional investors with independent and robust cryptocurrency reference prices, to meet their growing need for diversification. This initiative is part of Euronext’s strategy aiming to offer its clients indirect exposure to crypto assets through a diversified product set.
Based on a resilient methodology developed by Compass Financial Technologies, Euronext Crypto Indices serve as independent and transparent prices to value cryptocurrency portfolios, or as benchmarks for investors wishing to issue investment products tracking cryptocurrency prices.
Euronext Crypto Indices are calculated based on the collection of all observable rates for one specific cryptocurrency** on different selected cyptocurrency exchanges, following a methodology designed by Compass Financial Technologies, the BMR Index Administrator and Calculation Agent. To be considered as eligible, exchanges need to meet strict criteria in terms of compliance and regulation, transparency, reliability, continuity and IT robustness.
Fabrice Rahmouni, Head of Indices at Euronext, said: “Euronext, as announced in its ‘Growth for Impact 2024’ strategic plan, has the ambition to offer its clients the means to get exposure to this growing asset class with the level of operational and regulatory security we can expect on a regulated market. With these new Euronext Crypto Indices, we are now offering benchmark prices on well-established crypto-assets.”
Edouard Mouton, Co-founder and head of research at Compass, added : “We are delighted to strengthen our collaboration with Euronext by assisting with the development of their digital asset offer. This partnership represents another important milestone in the recognition of Compass Financial Technologies expertise on this new asset class.”
